Here be some pictures of Mr. Hurst's latest scratching on a Wesson action. I struggled getting decent pictures, and the third time wasn't a charm so I did the manly thing and gave up. Here are the best of the lot, but they don't do the work justice. Carpentry by Mr. Doug Mann.

I think that Ken Hurst's scroll and border work is some of the best there is. I really like this one.

I have to agree with Glenn, ken did a wonderful job on the engraving. I particularly like the treatment of the heel & toe plates!

BTW, please note the very special serial number that this gun has - "WKH" I wonder who that could be?

I have to confess, I didn't fit the metal to this rifle. My part was installing the heel & toe plates, finishing and checkering.

I believe that Ken has plans on meeting Mr. Buck with rifle in the woods of North Carolina somewhere and knowing the accuracy that Glenn builds into these rifles it should be no contest.

Again, a job well done!

I know this is getting into blondes vs. redhead territory, but the design and execution of the butt plates is truly special. The top plate in particular defies any superlatives known to man.

Gentlemens:

The stock was fit by Mr. Greg Pennell. Mr.Pennell recently retired after many years of service to this country in the Army. He is now back home in the hills of eastern Kentucky, carving on gun stocks in his spare time.

The rifle is chambered in .44-70 Maynard and sports a Green Mountain barrel.

Simply gorgeous. I keep trying to build up the courage to do a project gun so I can use the services of some of the talent on this board. This type of work sure helps.

I've seen a ton of these kinds of pics..., and I never get tired of them!
