did our annual corporate trip to do some plantation shooting in Georgia Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. shirt sleeve weather the whole time, must have got to 80 degrees Saturday about 2pm. got to break in my almost new uggie 28ga. my first pheasant and my first chuka (yes I know its plantation shooting but its all I've got).
Hey, good on you for getting out in that warm weather. Funny, when I was growing up in South Texas we never complained about 80 degree weather, today I probably would not venture out ecept for doves in that kind of heat.
Nice pics ending a great day!
Jim
It would be nice to see some close ups and barrel flats of an "Uggie" (I assume means Ugartechia)...for those of us who have never seen one...if it's not too much trouble
The way these guys talk about them, they must be racey like a 20ga Gamecock or superlight superposed...
Have you ever hunted Cabin Bluff in Georgia ?
Devrep,
Thank you...I owe you one...it's easy to see why everyone gets so excited about them...and it's easy to see why you bought two
Very cool, DevRep.
Taking your first phez and chukar with a 28g. That'll keep for a while.
It supposed to get into high 60s in central Va this PM.
There seems to something special about higher grade IG guns. One day I like to own '1030' SLE with "umbrella fences" and Prudey-style tight scroll on the cc side plates.
Chuck, 28ga and #9 shot. most of these plantation birds hold pretty tight.
Have you ever hunted Cabin Bluff in Georgia ?
no, I googled it and it looks kinda high falutin. we did Live Oak Plantation this year and Quail Harvest Plantation in 05 and 06. both are pretty down to earth.
You said "corporate trip" that's their specialty.
I go there every spring as a guest....I can assure you everyone there is down to earth.
