I was being sensible, so both my bids in the Sealed Bid sale were comfortably beaten.

I left a bid on the these .410 cartridges figuring that even if the shot sizes (5 in 3”) and wads (plastic in 2 1/2”) wouldn’t be my first choice I could live with them if I didn’t pay more than half retail. In the event they went with commission almost full retail.

I was intrigued by the Cheddite 24 gram (7/8 oz.) Silenziata loads. The internet tells me they go out with a muzzle velocity of 840 fps so presumably a short range proposition even for a ,410.
