I have had several early Pin Sterlingworths with fore end problems because the J spring did not hold the fore arm tightly. I know Fox changed their design over time and more than a few were returned to the factory to have the newer system added. Had one which was in the first three hundred made which had the last version attachment so that one had to have been updated at some point. But I never saw this type solution applied. Bit of a crude alteration but has stood up to time it looks like. Always wonder if that would work and now I know.

Sort of an amalgamation of a Remington Model 1894 and an RBL.
