I'm not going right now, I need time to call and email friends to vote, if they haven't already. Not everywhere has early voting.

In our family if you don’t vote you don’t get to [censored] later. Had a cousin who failed to vote a few years back. When we found out we cut him off from arguing about all things political and even sports. Soon as he started sharing his opinions someone would interrupt him and ask him if he had voted yet. Then told him only people who vote get a chance to [censored] about things. If you don’t vote you made no effort to change things so why should people who did try to get things changed have to listen to you? You want to complain then do something about it. Voting is the least you can do. I would also like to add paying taxes to the list of things you must do to [censored].

We have generous early voting privileges here in GA. I always vote the first or second day.

Interesting election for Gov. this year. A black woman lawyer is running to be the first black woman Governor in the country. In Georgia of all places. She has lots of national support. We'll probably have a run off.

Always vote, even if you vote wrong!...Geo

I like this Jon. Feel strongly about this as well....don't vote then shut up.

Wish I could join you all at the polls today. Good luck!

I voted this AM at 8:00, line was only 30 minutes.

I just voted. I have been very pleased to hear the numbers of my friends and co-workers who can't wait to get out and vote against the Democrats who wish to raise our taxes, open our borders to illegals, restrict our gun rights, push jobs overseas, be soft on unfair trade and countries like Iran and N. Korea... etc.

Many also haven't forgotten how they tried to derail Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and how badly they want to screw President Trump. If what I hear is any I indicator, anti-gun Liberal Left Democrats are not going to be happy, and the polls will be proven wrong again. MAGA!

I voted early. Both my Wife & one Daughter are working at the polls so they will both vote today. My Grandaughter here went to vote around 8:00 AM. I haven't been in contact with my Son in AL but am sure he & his family are voting, they always do. My other Daughter lives in Anaheim CA. Haven't contacted her to encourage her to vote. She's sorta the Black Sheep of the family anyway & would probably vote Dem, she even believes that Hanoi Jane "Repented" of her Evil concerning Vietnam. Fortunately, she has no children.

There has been so much early voting in Texas this round that at about 10:00 this morning there was no line at all either place I went (my usual place had changed). The fresh-faced poll worker asked if I wanted my ballot in English or Spanish. I replied in Spanish that I wanted it in English.

I worked a poll today for two candidates. One is an incumbent congressman with one of the most conservative voting records in the US House. The other is an up-n-comer young Army vet running for the PA state house. Plenty of liberals came through, grumpy and sour and surly and disrespectful as always, but brother, was there ever a wave of conservatives who voted. When I left the poll at 4:10 today, 670 voters out of a total 1,100 registered to vote in that precinct had voted. And I am quite positive that the after-work voter crowd was probably intense. Probably an 80% to 90% voter turnout at the one poll will be seen by 8:00 PM tonight, and everything I am hearing from across this region, and across the state, and across the country is that it is record voter turnout everywhere. Let's hope it's our kind of people who are voting.

Word Yo'.

Sparking up is lighting your preferred unit of marijuana delivery.
A "fatty" is a large diameter marijuana cigarette.
"Couch Lock" is a cannabis variant that when consumed, makes you grab your couch, not daring to move, or venture outside until it's relentless potency subsides.

And, it's good for glaucoma and chemo side effects as well, as it stimulates the appetite, and lowers intra-ocular pressures.

The only negative I see with it is I might sound like Ed when under it's charms.

I maintain a security clearance and have fitness for duty requirements, so I don't plan on sparking up any time soon.

Steve, a "Blunt" is a hollowed out tipped cigar (like a White Owl) packed with weed. Commonly used to mask the odor.

Now, with e-cigarette delivery devices, "extract" can be smoked without odor.

Big money in legal weed. Lots of tech.

But none of them apparently have a problem with the Grey Man posting a street drug terminology lesson here.

Where is the hand wringing and dour commentary that this forum is swirling down the crapper because someone took Ted's nice information thread reminding us to vote, and turned it into a dissertation on blunts and joints?

Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture? I wouldn't mention this if it wasn't for the stench of hypocrisy, and the clowns that exhibit a complete lack of character and act like they really even know what civility is.

ever notice how some threads like this one are like a freshly caught fish...nice and clean with a pleasant odor and brilliant colors...quite pleasing and appealing...but then, after a couple of hours after being out of water, or pages in, a fish and some forum threads begin to deteriorate toward corruption...first sign, is often a fly landing on the fish or an off topic post...then pretty soon, more flies show up...rapidly, the fish begins to change...the brilliant colors fade...the once clear eyes become cloudy...and a rather repulsive odor develops, as the flys and sun do their thing, with the eventual appearance of maggots being the result...

Agreed. Hypocritical to think otherwise. And for the record, I don't smoke pot, find those who do mostly annoying and took a friend to his first AA meeting last night. For those who can't manage it intoxicants are a problem. The rest of us shouldn't be penalized as a result.

First off, I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

I supported legalization here in CO for the same reasons CZ and canvasback cited. At the same time, I thought medical marijuana mostly snake oil and a backdoor path to legalization. I’m surprised by how wrong I was about the medical side. It’s real and has immensely helped a couple people I care about (Chron’s disease and multiple sclerosis). Interestingly, they don’t get very “stoned”. The psychoactive parts have been largely breed out of certain medical strains. People are investing their money in medical cannabis research, which is my indicator of bullshit vs real. I would be full of shit if I didn't acknowledge that a lot of medical marijuana users just want to get stoned.

I'm sure it has some benefits but look where opioids have us today like morphine had us @ one time(history continues to repeat itself for those who don't read it.....). I typically don't delve into an online tepid pool of alligators, but when an individual chooses to use substances that affect your cognisant ability, that individual has chosen the life path for them, ie, their lot in life. They are not going to have a high-tech job, a job piloting drones, trains, planes, automobiles, heavy equipment, bus @ local highschool, etc. as the insurance is not going to allow them as it is too much of a liability. So as general use in the end the concept is a cyclic downward spiral for the individual(and I've lost friends that began w/ weed & worked their way up & to break the cycle, suicide was thier method of choice), that's only upshot is that State revenues will get a bounce.

drinking and smoking...guess its ok, so long as you do no harm to others...and if drugs provide temporary relief from pain and heart ache, then that is a good thing too, i guess...

sort of like abortion...do not like the idea and consider it murder... but do not feel anyone or anything has the right to intervene and control events in such a private matter, between two or sometimes three individuals...

TN remained Republican for its senator, 7 out of 9 representatives & its Governor. The two representatives who went Dem were already Dem so no loss for us. These two were the areas around Nashville (State Capital) & Memphis.
Memphis has sunk so low (Don't Blame this one on Joe) they recently sold two "Valuable" city parks for $1,000.00 each. I do not know the estimated value of these parks, but I seriously doubt there would many, if any, house lots one could buy in Memphis for $1,000.00. So Why did the city sell these parks at this ridiculously low price? Simple, they had statues of Confederate General N B Forrest on them. State law prohibits any municipality from removing or otherwise mutilating a historical statue or marker without a complicated process of approval. City officials with no public hearings or otherwise simply sold these parks to a private Concern to which the law did not apply & under cover of darkness they came in & removed the statues & hid them away. There is currently a lawsuit against the city asking for 30 Million & I hope they get every penny of it.

I wish I could see clearly what to do in those situations, miller. I've visited Civil War battlefields and monuments throughout the South. I like to read inscriptions to measure the care communities have taken with their history. The statues, sabres and horses are a welcome sight to me. Then I remember they must affect others differently for good reasons.

This year they removed a beautiful statue of Lord Edward Cornwallis in our provincial capital of Halifax. He was a soldier who founded Halifax and massacred native people fighting on the side of the French while both empires struggled for control of the continent. I felt the statue should remain with an inscription describing accurately both sides of history.

I feel the same about those in the South.

It’s not all doom and gloom today. Rhinos got defeated but more conservative Republican candidate dates did very well. Most New Democrats appear the be very young, very liberal, almost socialist. Like many I don’t look forwards to seeing Nancy Pelosi every day but her pathway ito leadership is not that clear. Unlike the Republicans, who don’t assign chairmanships based on Seniorty and who term limit how long a chair may lead, all of the key chairmanship will go to the longest serving, oldest Democratic members who are mostly in their 70s or greater. When the younger part of the House finds out their pathway to real power is blocked for a decade or more I expect a lot of resentment and more than a little kickback. They are much more liberal, almost socialist to me and I don’t think waiting 10-15 years for real power will suit them. Plus a House bill still has to get past the Senate and President.

I just finished a rather interesting evaluation of our last election and why going forwards the Democrats may be able to control only the House as we go forwards, not the Senate. It comes down to population distribution. In 20 years, 15 states will have the majority of the population and those states will be dominated by Democrats. Think California, New York, North East, west Coast type distribution. So that will give the Democrats a good base to elect House members but a very weak base to elect Senators. With congressional apportionment based on population, the Blue states will elect a lot of congressmen but only 30 Senators. And even in California a fe Republicans gets elected in pockets of strong support. To gain control of the Senate they will be forced to win Senate races in predominantly Red states. That’s going to be very difficult to do.

Better yet will be the fact that all Federal judges must be approved by what will be a much more conservative Senate. Change the Federal court system from liberal to conservative dominated, including the Supreme Court and a lot of court mandated changes will be reversed over time.

now with the dims running the house, we get to see how good a wheeler dealer/deal maker trump really is...

in order to get what he wants from the dims, trump has to make temporary friends with them and give them somethings they want...this process of give and take, ie compromise, is what we used to call politics...

and once you make friends with your political enemies and give them something they can crow about, people begin to become less partisan and start to unify behind a wise leader, who gives hope to all...if trump can accomplish this in the next two years, he could be reelected in a landslide victory in 2020...it could be 1984 all over again...that would be a wonderful thing...

gee keith, fact is humans are complex creatures...one could say that we are all skitzo somewhat, depending on our intellect and thought processes...

anyway, thanks for digging up the above posts...i had forgotten how thought provoking they are...too bad you refuse to think with an open mind...

and a way to bring us all together, as a nation, is to recognise that right now, many of us think one way and many of us think another way, and in reality even more of us dont think much at all...least wise not about national unity...then a next step is to engage in respectful dialog with those we disagree with, in an effort to find common ground and solutions to problems, that may require some sacrifice by a few for the greater good of many...

like, recently there was mass murder with firearms done in pa and now in ca...what is your suggestion, if any, to prevent these horrible acts from occurring again, and again and again? or is there really nothing that can be done?

an please, consider starting a separate thread here, so we can all discuss gun rights issues here, without further trashing this fine thread, with our off topic posts...i eagerly await the opportunity to have thoughtful and respectful dialog with you and others here, re this important and timely topic...

+1 Ted, and thanks for permission to go off-topic.

Ed wishes to stay on topic in order to avoid seeing his own anti-gun rhetoric being repeated. But the original topic was a reminder to vote in the mid-term election... which was finished two days ago on Nov. 6th. And really, what is the mental state of these Trolls who even think it might be a good idea to discuss restricting gun rights of law abiding citizens here on a firearms forum? Saying they have shit for brains is being way too generous.

The only thing "thought provoking" about Ed's anti-gun Trolling or any of his other moronic posts is to ask ourselves why his several suspensions for threatening and idiotic behavior here have been only temporary, rather than permanent?

Don't forget to get out and vote again Ed. If the doors to your polling place are locked, just stand there and wait until they reopen.

EDIT: I just logged out and saw that Ed's fellow Trolls, King and rocky mth bill, were reading this post. I can't wait to see what sort of clever reply they will come up with in support of their anti-2nd Amendment pal.

" It could be 1984 all over again." Ed, you got that right. Now read George Orwell's 1984.

bill: was thinking more of reagan's popularity with voters of all persuasions...do you realize he won 49 out of 50 states?

Six months later and things are starting to get really interesting. Looks like we finally got an AG with huevos grandes to implement our law and hold law breakers accountable. Restores my faith in American govvernment

If this AG had been appointed first I doubt we would have had the free for all that has been the last two years. But going forwards I expect multiple people to get charged with crimes and then convicted. They all need to be perp walked out their homes at 5:00 AM with swat teams in the background. Send a message that people working for the government need to leave their personal and political views home. You’ve got a job to do but don’t think it gives you a right to do what you want. If you don’t like the terms of employment then find another job.

I think there are still 12 ongoing investigations as a result of the probe, so you are likely correct in that there will be more indictments. And don't forget, DOJ policies against indicting sitting presidents, only apply to sitting presidents. So hopefully your expectations are realized.

Perhaps if President Obama actually committed a crime, but alas despite all the vast conspiracy theories, he did not. Can't say that with a straight face on the current occupant though.

Does individual #1 ring a bell?

Or then there is this, which is still going to be in the mind of career prosecutors after he's out of office.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/nat...m=.6cbb1a6fcb6a

And this as well, which if the investigations produce an indictment, no federal pardon would reach.

Yeah, I think KYJon's wish might just come true...

I'll bet Liberal anti-gun Democrats in Congress will find out that Special Counsel Robert Mueller was in on the collusion with Trump and Putin. How else can we explain almost two years and tens of millions of dollars that didn't get Trump indicted or impeached?

I wonder what nca225 or rocky mtn bill would say if Trump had deleted 30,000 e-mails and smashed Blackberries or used an illegal private server like Hillary? And when it comes to election meddling, who besides our Libtards can ignore real election meddling???

Pretty astute observation nca, the career politicians will continue to do what they do, so much as illhand-n-aoc say so. But, when it comes to policy and the future direction of the country, even you recognize that your President is a duly elected office holder. The knee slapper will be, 'after he's out of office', he won't take the faux high road like bush claimed to do, cnn will lap up his willingness to share. Think about it six years from now, the clap, bren the ring gauge, or this President's ongoing bully pulpit for ratings?

I knew it wouldn't take long for the intellectually disabled to show up. Like flies to sh!t, but you are not the fly in that analogy. And you are dumb, don't deny it, because if you could read, you would see that article about the letter from the former DOJ Attorneys give a clear explanation why the current occupant was not indicted for obstruction.

Here's some reading for you to get you started on your journey of self improvement from being disloyal, dumb and delusional:

1.5 years thrifty not 6.

Just remember thirfty, real Americans think that it’s bad when foreign adversaries seek to influence our elections. Real Americans also think it is bad when the the political party of the foreign adversary’s favor accepts the adversary’s help, and takes actions to conceal the assistance.

Hey, BTW, you ran from this one like a congressional page from Mark Foley. Care to support your facade of patriotism and love of one's Country, or is it just political party and ideology for a gal like you?

I'll just remind every one here of the letter from hundreds of former federal prosecutors saying Trump ought to have been charged with obstruction. Those of you who cling to him might want to be tested for early-onset dementia.

You also have to realize, well two things never believe what you hear to be truth, especially coming from the media circuit or is it circus and second yes you could try and charge him with obstruction, but no judge would ever allow it due to the fact that your reasoning has taken his words out of context. Look I'm just sitting back watching all of you make fools of yourselves, it's 4 yrs, vote who you like, if you win cool, if not its only 4 yrs. So enough already!

You should read this again Bill. When someone fades in and out of reality and starts worshiping opinion pieces, has the condition 'progressed' to advanced aocism or just run of the mill dementia?

Hey, did you catch some of the prelims to the Barr vote on tv earlier? No wonder you and nca comment like you do. Is parroting related to dementia or socialism?

Spoken like a true patriot to mother Russia. Watch out bill, thrifty is runnin like a b!tch and probably doesn’t care who he catches his dress or pros on.

Also nice to see keith got another thread shut down to protect himself. Must be nice to have friends in high places.

Hey, does everyone remember when Donald Trump promised Medvedev that he "could be more flexible with Putin after the election."???

Well actually that was the Liberal Left Democrat anti-gunner Barack Obama. You know, the same Leftist who screwed up the economy, the entire Middle East, handed Iraq to ISIS and billions of dollars to Iran. Some patriot, huh?

Actually, I'm very sorry that the thread documenting your liberal pal SKB's lies and use of data from anti-gunners got deleted. I don't ask Dave to lock or delete any threads ever. Do you think Miller's comments got the Parker thread locked too... or are you just that stupid?

Well, we all know the answer to that one. Go cling to more false hope of getting Trump indicted or impeached. Those of us who have brains are standing behind the guy who is actually doing something to preserve the nation, our jobs, and our gun rights. Leave it to you and rocky mtn bill to dream of a country invaded by illegals and controlled by queers, transgender sicko's, and Welfare recipients.

Is that the same "real Americans" who believe convicted murderers should not be given a lethal injection, but believe unborn babies should?

Is that the same "real Americans" who believe Comey who answered "I don't know", "I don't recall" and "I don't remember" 263 times under oath, yet remembered enough about it all to write a book?

Is that the same "real Americans" who espouse that every woman has the right to be believed, unless they have been raped by Bill Clinton, beaten by Keith Ellison, groped by Cory Booker, or killed by Ted Kennedy?

nca thinks convicted murderers in prison should have the RIGHT to vote.

nca gets a tingle up his leg when the clinton foundation got tens of millions in bribes from russia. Oh, excuse me, while sec-o-state she ran a sister foundation in canada for the purposes of concealing donor identities. In a couple of years, he's gonna be writting that to be a real American you have to live in guatemala and get food stamps from somalia.

You sure do get threads locked down princess. Remember the one where you came out so proud about frequenting the shop of and doing a lot of business with Ol' Gene the treasure stealing nazi armorer? How you must miss drooling over those stolen jewish European treasures.

This is a really informative post to understand where you are coming from.

Real Americans can disagree on policy and still not manage to hate their country enough to accept assistance from a foreign adversary and then take steps to conceal it from the public.

So thats what it takes for you to hate America and give it to the Russians huh Stan? Must really piss you off the girls can vote as well as do what they wish with their own bodies.

A traitor and misogynist. At this point I have more respect for an ISIS bride then you. At least they have the guts to leave the country that they have come to hate.

America needs less people like you.

No nca225, I did not mention uranium one. Thank you for your response, maybe consider reading what you're commenting about?

I have seen no evidence that foreign actors actually influenced our elections near as much as Obama's attempt to influence the re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu. I didn't need any Russians to tell me that the last thing we needed was another anti-2nd Amendment Liberal Left Democrat. In fact, if Putin was somehow responsible for Trump beating Hillary, then he deserves the Medal of Freedom. It's hard to fathom what is so patriotic about Democrats turning a blind eye to a foreign invasion by upwards of 30 million illegals.

And sorry idiot, but I had nothing to do with Dave's decision to lock or delete any thread here, including the ones where you went above and beyond your usual moronic behavior over the German gunsmith who managed to take some guns that he was supposed to destroy, and smuggled them into the U.S. after WWII.

Really Shit-fer-brains, if I had any real influence on Dave whatsoever... do you seriously think that Libtards like you, King, rocky mtn bill, etc. would still be here? And Stan just might agree that someone as mentally defective as you makes a convincing argument for extremely late-term abortion. In fact, I think it is entirely possible that an incompetent abortion doctor sucked most of your brain out. Too bad he didn't finish the job.
