This is a first post from a long time lurker recent member. I live in SW Georgia and love to dove and Quail hunt with my 4 Shorthairs.

Having followed this site for several year I decided it was time to join in.

Mainly an over/under guy but recently dove into the SxS world with a Churchill XXV Premiere 2 barrel set. So far it is a super quail gun with 3/4oz reloads.

Hopefully I can find a photo hosting web site that I can understand so I can post some photos.

Had a good last two days of Georgia dove season limiting both days.

Welcome, Willie Boy, from another "Cracker". I finished out the dove season today with a great shoot, myself. Good to have another dove/quail man here. You'll enjoy the "Favorite Game/Gun Picture - 2017 Hunting Season" thread, most likely.

Don't be a stranger. SRH

Don't intend to.
Have really enjoyed your post and your and other jawja posters are why I finally registered.

When I get set up on a photo web site I'll post some photos.

Shot my Perazzi MX8/20 with 33" 28ga barrels today. A sweet dove killing machine !

Thanks for the welcome.

Seriously, get you a hosting account and do some show and tell.

What is the photo hosting site of choice?

I have been trying Imgur and have gotten nowhere.
Posted By: Stanton Hillis Re: New Guy - 01/16/18 02:22 AM
I'm a dinosaur. I still use photobucket. Most folks who used to use it had to quit because they disallowed them posting pics from it onto forums, like this, unless they paid them some . I can't explain it, but there's a very few of us who they never did that to, and we continue to use it. I'd check out a bunch of others before messing with Pb, just because of their track record. Sorry, I know that's not much help.

Good pics, Willie.

Now, one more step will put the pic itself on the forum. I, however, can't tell you what that step is. blush

skeetx (Mike) prolly can.

Photos look like crap compared to original.
Tried photobucket where I have an account but it won't let me send them to another site without paying.

I get the hang of it sooner or later.....

Meanwhile the Perazzi is a favorite of mine. I have a complete set of 33" barrels. 20, 28 and 410 fixed choke. Will check the measurements but best I remember they equate out to IM and Full. I prefer the 28 and 410. Shoot a lot of clays and dove with both gauges.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Rocket man the 3/4oz loads I mention with the Churchill are 12ga. I am also a fan of 3/4 12ga loads, especially in a gun that only weighs 6lbs 2oz.

I don't think so jOe. It appears that ed's definition of a Cracker is someone who makes posts like this:

Welcome Willieb. There is a lot of really good information about doubles to be found here. Unfortunately, you have to separate the wheat from the chaff. There are internet pretenders like Jagermeister who are quick to offer advice, but don't even own a double and don't hunt. And you have to remember that there are a handful of regular contributors who are staunch supporters of the same Liberal Left anti-gun Democrat politicians who work tirelessly to take away your rights to own guns and to hunt. Crazy, huh?

jpgbox.com or postimages.org are so easy to use that I can't imagine why anyone would ever use or trust Photobucket again after their extortion attempt. Here are your pics using postimages:

after you are around here for a while, you will notice, that when confronted with difficult questions, some here, will dodge answering the questions, by launching personal attacks...and keet seems to think that by repeating the questions over and over again, that it discredits the questions and somehow causes others to ignore the questions...however, what keet fails to realize, is that the more questions are publicized, the more others are inclined to think about the answers...once people begin to think, the more broad minded they become...
Posted By: Stanton Hillis Re: New Guy - 01/18/18 10:24 PM
Just to clear this all up a little, "Cracker" is a term used to delineate South Georgia/North Fla. settlers who ran cattle free range in the longleaf pine forests and wire grass flats. It is somewhat unclear where the term "Cracker" originated. Some say it was an English term for a braggart, others say it was coined by locals as a description of how the settlers cracked and ground corn they grew.

It is used as a racial slur by some, but those who know their heritage are not insulted at all by being called a Cracker.

SRH
Posted By: ed good Re: New Guy - 01/18/18 10:53 PM
stan: the term cracker, also refers to a drover, who was so adept at making a bullwhip crack, that it conveyed commands, without the necessity of applying the whip to flesh...

cracker skills are described in a wonderful novel titled "A Land Remembered" by Patrick D. Smith...it describes the origins of the south florida cattle industry, in the decade after the civil war...the main character is a drover from south georgia who moved south after helping to repel the yankee invaders at the battle of olustee in 1864...

After you are around here for a while, you will notice that when I say something about our anti-gun Trolls and FUDD's like Ed Good, I will typically back up my opinion with direct quotes to prove what I say. The only questions I have ever refused to answer by Ed were when he repeated the same stupidity and obviously never took the time to read an earlier reply. Our Libtards, on the other hand, will run away from their own words by making personal attacks on whoever pointed out their anti-gun or anti-hunting proclivities.

Now Ed, why don't you tell the new guy what you think about dove hunting, instead of being a lying Troll? Oh wait... I forgot that's what you do best. Here's enough to tell you all you need to know about Ed Good:

Preserve the 2nd Amendment thread - Informational

This was a thread that Dave Weber had permanently pinned to the top of the main double gun forum until he finally discontinued it because anti-2nd Amendment Trolls like Ed Good and King Brown were continually disrupting it and violating the ground rules set by Dave. King and Ed's own words do more to discredit them than anything I could ever say or do.

The official interpretation of what the framers intended when they drafted the 2nd Amendment was settled in not one, but two U.S. Supreme Court cases in 2008. The addled opinions of a brainless anti-gun Troll had no place being posted there. The obvious intent of you and your anti-gun pal King was to Troll and disrupt. In fact, prior to Dave allowing the thread to go away, King was the only one who had posts totally deleted by Dave from the content of the thread. Why do you think that was?

Despite the clear and simple meaning of the words, the large body of scholarly research into the original intent, and the results of the Heller and McDonald decisions, both you and King Brown persisted in maintaining that the Individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms was a recent invention of the NRA, and that states and localities had the right to supersede the 2nd Amendment with more restrictive local statutes. I provided a link to that Preserve the 2nd Thread so anyone could judge for themselves who was constantly disrupting the spirit of it and violating Dave's ground rules. You and King make rude attacks on our Constitutional Gun Rights, and people here need to know that guys like you are the reason we are locked in a never ending battle to maintain those freedoms. You are the enemy, pure and simple. And that is how you deserve to be treated. Now here's some more reading for the new guy to judge just what a piece of crap you really are. It is very revealing to see King Brown was the only person to defend you:

well keet an udders, as i see it, the second amendment is one of the first ten amendments to the u.s. constitution...the first ten amendments to the constitution are known as the bill of rights...the primary purpose of the bill of rights is to limit the power and scope of the federal gubmint...

the second amendment states that within the context of a well regulated militia, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed...that means to me, that the second amendment, in the context of the bill of rights, forbids the federal gubmint from infringing on the right of the people to keep and bear arms...and the framing of the second amendment, within the context of a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, seems to me to imply that it is up to each state to determine the level of civilian arms regulation that is needed to maintain public safety and security...in the 20th century, many state and local gubmints enacted legislation that regulate the civilian right to keep and bear certain classes of arms, such as handguns and semi auto military style rifles...to date most of those laws are still on the books and have not been overturned nor repealed...

and as for the two 2008 federal court rulings you site above, they have to do with local gubmint prohibition of the right to keep and bear certain classes of arms, but do not address state and local gubmint regulation of the keeping of certain classes of arms...

you also above, refer to an individual right to keep and bear arms...that is a relatively new concept, only validated by recent federal court ruling... in my opinion, the second amendment does not address the right of individuals...it does address the right of the people...which, to me implies a collective right of the people...

and the ongoing battle you refer to above should not really be about weather state and local gubmints have the power to regulate civilian possession of certain classes of firearms, but rather does gubmint at any level have the power to prohibit civilian possession of any arm...there is a vast difference between regulation and prohibition...

and keet, sometimes i too think you are a disruptive, addled, brainless piece of crap...but, i would never say that to you, because, that would be rude...

So tell us idiot, in the other Constitutional Amenents that refer to "the people" are you telling us that those rights are collective, and not individual rights as well?

There is no question that some localities have infringed upon the 2nd Amendment . This happens where there are Liberal Left people like you and your friend King Brown. Fortunately for the rest of us, the Suipreme Court doesn't have a majority of agenda driven idiots like you who choose to ignore and reject the original intent of the Framers.

But thanks for once again showing everyone that guys like you are a threat to the firearms freedoms of every law abiding citizen. Allowing your ignorance to go unchallenged is about as smart as injecting cancer cells into your own liver. Amnesia arguing that states and localities have the right to infringe upon the 2nd Amendment is about as far away as you can be from helping to preserve it. People like you should be deported. But even North Korea wouldn't take an idiot like you.
