A while ago I asked board members for advice on how to clean engraving without causing any damage to the colour case hardening. Several reply’s suggested that ”John Foster Gunmakers” was the best person to contact for this kind of work. John Foster himself posted a reply offering his services. After a quick phone call I delivered the guns to John’s premises in Stockton – on –Tees to be stripped down, cleaned and serviced. Today I collected the guns back from John and here are some photographs of the completed work.

Needless to say I am delighted with the work.

Frank Otte,
The guns are XXV 25" barrels.

EJSX,
I am sorry but I do not know what cleaning method is used by John Foster other than "ultra sonic bath"
