A couple of weeks ago we were discussing some of TOny's browning in England. A couple of us mentioned success with Mark Lee's solution. I have done two or three with this solution and I am pleased. It seems to give more browns than the English formulas and does not have organic Mercury (Mercuric Chloride)
in it. Below is the finished barrels although the pictures are not as detailed and crisp as the barrels

I forgot to mention that I placed them in a medium strength logwood solution at about 200 degrees for two to three minutes after the last carding.

Mark Lees is not a magic solution as it takes all the care and fiddling as with others. However, I do believe it imparts slightly more browns to the barrels.

Are you using it hot or cold?
