OT,but my son has a custom flattop .22 on order from U.S. Firearms and has heard nothing for 3 months and wondering if they are still in business. Email has gone unanswered as opposed to the initial contact when they were very forthcoming.

I've only ever had one experience with them and that was too many years ago to count,, maybe.
But a friend had a long drawn out experiance with a special order 38wcf SAA from them not long ago.
Ended up with what he ordered, but 'never again' were his words with a few colorful points applied.

The skinny over at the Colt forum is that the single actions currently coming out of Hartford are the best guns since the 2nd Generation SAA. Apparently fit and finish is top notch. I once considered a USFA a while back but will probably end up with the real deal. Some of the members in the rifle section had bad experinces with USFA.
