very nice i hope you enjoy it in the field
and not make it a safe queen. regards bob [pittsboro]
Hey Pittsboro!
It will be used at the traps AND sporting clays. Come over to the Fort Bragg Clay Target Center and experience it for yourself! (maybe when it cools off a little)
Beautiful Ithaca Walt!!! What is the history behind the previous owner?
Verrrry nice, but it seems I remember you showing pics of one you bought at the Southern. No?
Patriot,
I did buy 2 other 4Es there and one at the Great Northeast. I don't believe I have shown this one before. Too many 4Es! This can happen when you don't have a wife providing financial council.
This project is a wonderful validation of the wisdom of quality shotgun restoration.
Nice work on a lovely old Ithaca.

Or, when they don't ask any more if you are a senior for the discount.
My wife gave up 'counseling' a long time ago before I drove her nuts.
Simply outstanding. A masterful restoration!

Hi Walt. Boy--Gunter does really fine work! If memory serves me, I may have pointed out this fine Ithaca to you at the Southern. It was great to see you again and hope you're doing well. BD
Walt, Bernie didn't seem to be a prolific ATA shooter. The only Illinois birds I can find for him were in 1936 and 1938. He may have shot in other years, or he may have moved after 1938. In '36, he shot 100 birds and broke 80 of them. In '38, he shot 300 16 yard birds with a .9466 average. In 1938, Bernie lived at 1110 Martin Street, Peoria.
Thanks eightbore. I have not researched him yet. Been busy chasing the Butterfield and Penn swamp rib guns.Your bit will help a great deal.
Walt,
Check the 1910 census records. A Bernard Meyer shows up in Peoria as a blacksmith, born 1885 in Iowa. May or may not be your man.
