Folks, a buddy in the Phillipines seeks info about the below gun. He needs help in id'ing this Beretta 20 gauge SxS. Sorry for the quality of the photos; he had nothing but a cellphone. Here's what he has to say about the gun:
"A good friend showed me a project he is undertaking: Restoring a 20 ga Beretta SxS. This gun was given to him without a fore end and stock. The receiver and barrels were in good condition. It is also missing the hammer leaf springs. Upon looking at the remains , I found that the gun's serial number was either a C37632 or O37632. These numbers matched the ones on the barrels. It had "Beretta Monobloc" engraved on it. It had the usual proof markings of Beretta as well as the date of manufacture code which is roman numericals XVI. Upon referring to the Manufacturing Codes of Beretta it meant that it was manufactured in 1960. The barrels are 26" and has fixed chokes - however, I could not quite identify the type of choke. As I did not have a camera with me, I was forced to use my mobile phone and was appalled when I downloaded it - the photos were terrible! But that is what I have at the moment."

It is a Beretta Silver Hawk. I just sold one made in 1961 via the For Sale section of this forum. Please view my photos and you will find your gun's big brother.

Gil, if your friend is looking for parts, the Silver Hawk is essentially a Model 409 with some alterations for the American market. But a 409 stock should work, if he can find one. Not sure about the forend, because the standard 409 forend was a splinter while the Silverhawk had a BT. The lump may be in a different position on Silverhawk barrels to accommodate a longer forend iron.

I had a Silverhawk made in the early 60s with the beavertail and 409 was stamped into the wood

Right, they are essentially the same gun. Just not sure they have the same forend iron, given that much more generous BT on the Silverhawk. Would be interesting if someone with both a standard 409 and a SH could compare forends.
