I am thinking about buying a firearm manufacturered by Castellanio in the 1950s. I can find no information on this company. Any information or sources would be greatly appreciated as would opinions on the quality of their firearms.

There should be a date code on the gun.


There were many small makers, who spent years working for Beretta then went out on their own. Most are not known here. It is best to judge the gun and not the name in those instances. Some produced average guns, some produced some very nice examples.

Thanks Pete. The gun is on the wrong coast for inspection. If I move forward I will certainly specify a right to inspection and return.
