There was an interesting drilling by Aug. Wolf Suhl on gunbroker which looked to be of the Munch-Anson variety. While I was saving a few pics, the auction expired.

Most of the Wolf craftsmen were found in Zella Saint Blasii or Zella-Mehlis such as Adalbert(?) Wolf and others but Albert Wilhelm Wolf was listed in Suhl. More than likely all were decendents of Heinrich Wolf of Heinrichs. Albert Wolf of Suhl was active about the date of proof for this drilling, 6/38?, and was probably the son of Albert Wilhelm Wolf. So I guess August to also be a son and maybe a firearms merchant? Curious "R" on the watertable.

Kind Regards,

And on the Gunbroker/drilling front, there looks to be a 1970 DDR/GDR Merkel "outstanding quality", workhorse of a drilling, with a somewhat crude modification, which might be a deal: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=138117807 . Then again I may be letting a wet cat out of the bag.
