Can anyone recommend a competant gunsmith that does stock bending anywhere around the Chicago area? I have a Beretta 682 with cast-off and some twist and I am left handed. I figure I have 3 choices, sell the gun, get new wood or have the current stock bent to a neutral position. I think I like the gun - so bending the stock appears to be my bst alternative.

Searching old posts - if I have to send the gun to someone, it looks like Mike Orlen is highly recommended - correct?

Thanks,

Chris
George Young. I beleive he is in Lake Bluff,IL. George has been doing fitting and bending for years.

Not sure if he does bending or not, but he will be able to recommend some one local.

Hugh Lomas in Elkhart Lake WI does great work and is timely.

hope the link works
No question that Dave Norin and Hugh Lomas are excellent choices. However,I also really like the work of Del Whitman. I am about to send him an English double for a pig skin pad installation. Go to his web site and you'll even prices for his services (including stock bending) which are second to none for quality workmanship.

Let's see.......Stock Bending Around Chicago.....First soak overnight, then steam, then WRAP AROUND A CHICAGO POLITICIAN'S NECK I CAN THINK OF, AND PULL VERY HARD.......SHOULD be able to bend it any way you want ! ! !

Good Luck....
Thanks Gentlemen,
That's a lot of choices. I will have to do some research and pick onwof your recommendations.

Chris
