In working up a load for my 6X52R Brettschneider insert barrel, I noticed that the loads listed in my DEVA reloading manual use either Vihtavouri or Rottweil powder. I have been using Vihtavouri powders for years, but Rottweil has never been sold on the American market as far as I know.
According to a table of Powder Rate Burn Comparison I found on the internet (
http://www.reloadersnest.com/burnrates.asp), Rottweil powders seem to correspond roughly to Norma powders. For instance, Norma N203 is number 190 on the list and Rottweil R903 is number 191 and Norma N204 is number 218 on the list and Rottweil R904 is number 219. Does anyone know whether there is a connection between these makes of powder, or is this mere coincidence?
