I know you guys will be shocked but I picked up another no-name basket case.

It a custom sporter built on a 1909 Springfield action. I just got it a couple days ago and last night got the crud out of the bore. As these things some times happen it has a perfect bore. So I'm going to restore it.

The buttplate was replaced and they tried to use the original screw holes and messed up both the plate, screws and the holes. I'll use new screws and fill the old holes and redrill.

It still has the military rear sight base but is missing the adjustment knob. I have a King sight mounted on a military base that's needs refurbished that I can use.

Now to the point of the thread, the rifle is missing the bolt. A "D" would be correct for this rifle but I'll take any low-numbered straight handled correct complete bolt. I'm not sure what a low-numbered bolt is going for these days but would be happy to pay the going rate. Also need a sight adjustment knob assembly.

Used a bolt from another rifle to take a few pictures.

Still have a little more work to do but now it looks like a rifle.

I like these early no-name rifles.

This rifle is about six hundred numbers from Townsend Whelen's rifle.

With a mint bore chances are good that it was never a military rifle.

Interesting work but unknown to me. Had a Mannlicher trap buttplate originally but now replaced. I have a MS buttplate but I think it was run over by a truck.

Thank goodness it's one of those low-numbered dangerous rifles that dealers like to get rid of grin

Michael,
Is the rear sight a King? Please post pictures of the rear sight if it is not a King.
