There is a little Cartridge Collector show going on at the fairgrounds east of Govenment Way, just north of the Home Depot, in Coeur d'Alene today and tomorrow. Admission is by donation, but the reason I mention this show, is that there is a wonderful display of shot concentrators and shot spreaders, that date from the 1840s to the early 1900s.
They were also offereing there a new book on American .410-bore shot shells, but I wasn't quite $70 interested.

Dave,
Is that Ron Gabriel's book? If not, do you remember the title?

No, it was not the Ron Gabriel book, American & British 410 Shotguns. The book I noticed was on cartridges, and the title was something like .410-bore Shotshells in America 1914 to 1987. I may have to go back tomorrow and take another look.

There's also a new book out on shot concentrators and shot spreaders. I wonder if the author is the same person doing the display?

I went back to the show this morning, and the books are --
Encyclopedia of the 410 Shotshell in America 1914-1942, by Greg Bickford, C.F.E. 89 PO Box 730, Dunnigan, California 95937, $75 plus postage.
Early Shotgun Concentrators and Spreaders, the first one hundred years of invention to control the flight of shot, by Gary B. Muckel, 6531 Carlsbad Drive, Lincoln, Nebraska 68510, $55 plus $3 shipping.
