Temporary extension for a very small stock

I have been unable to find a slip-on pad to fit a 20 with a very small stock - the smallest ones from Cabelas and Galazan are too big. Sadly, it already has a nice leather-covered pad. Any suggestion on what I should use until I can get a wood extension or much longer pad fitted? Thanks.

Take off the leather covered pad and make an extension of any wood at hand. Use the existing pad screw holes. Don't worry about how it looks or the finish. Some people find walnut and white pine attractive. Pretty is as pretty does. Better to have it work good than look pretty. Etc.
