I've heard of double to single trigger conversions, but can you do the opposite? Any idea who might do this sort of thing, and the price? (I'm assuming it's not worth it, just wondering mostly for my own curiosity)
Thanks,
Dave

Rich Cole in Maine does it to Beretta's 68X series. I had mine doen a few years back. After I sold the single trigger assembly on Ebay I think it cost me about $120.

Love my 20ga, straight hand, DT, 686.

That sounds very similar to what I'm going to be putting together, just didn't think I'd be able to get dt's. Got any pics of yours?

Still may not, it's not a 68x, but we'll see.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the going rate for beretta single trigger assemblies on ebay?

It depends on the gun and the trigger. I know its easy to do with and inexpensive for some guns, like Rizzini O/Us.

Others are a lot more expensive. I looked into have a Harrison & Hussey SLE converted from a Miller ST back to DTs. To have it done right was going to cost something like $2500, maybe more.

So what do you have?

It's a BL4, but this is just a pipe dream at this point. I would only do it if it were a relatively easy/inexpensive fix, and maybe not even then. Sounds like if anyone will know for sure it'll be Cole...

RecoilRob, if you have any pictures of that gun to post, it would be appreciated.

I just picked up a 20 ga. Beretta Onyx and I've already talked to Coles about doing the double trigger conversion. Then I'll get a semi-inletted straight grip stock from Wenigs and finish it off.

Here you go guys. I had it done in Oct., 2001.

Had I let Coles keep the single trigger it was, I want to say, around $150 for the conversion.

I checked my invoice and I paid Coles $200 and got back my single trigger. I believe I sold the trigger on Ebay for a little over $100. My trigger was hardly used, maybe had 100 rounds through it at the time. So it cost about $100 out of pocket back then, plus shipping.

Coles did a great job, both trigger pulls were tuned to around a nice crisp 4-5lbs. The also switched out the barrel selector/safety button to just a safety.

I like the gun very much but hardly use it. It's my backup gun, I take it with me in case one of the older SxS's gets a hiccup.

I bought it for myself for my 40th birthday, I got a good deal because the barreles are the wrong way.

I have a second cousin that had a Hunter one-trigger that had been giving him trouble in a 12-gauge Crown Grade L.C. Smith, then the stock broke. He had the Smith restocked and converted to double trigger at the same time. It was a done by a gunsmith in Minnesota. This was all a bit over 30 years ago. I doubt it was cost effective, but he's probably gotten well by now and had a lot of years use out of that Smith.

I saw a BSS with a custom conversion from ST to DT, but I have no idea what it cost. My guess is that Cole's work is about as inexpensive as you're likely to find, but I think it's also restricted to Beretta OU's, and maybe not all models--at least at the relatively modest price.

I talked to someone at Coles this am. It was a really bad connection for some reason, and we actually got cut off so I didn't catch the last part, but what I got was that parts for the BL series Berettas are no longer made and not available.
My assumption is that it would cost more than the gun is worth to have a conversion done with that being the case.

At least my gloved finger will fit nicely in colder weather!
