This was a "basket case" project gun 6 years ago. Buck Hamlin of Pevely, MO did a fantastic job of restocking and restoring this 12 gauge A Grade Fox. It was originally made in the 1905-1908 period. Apparently the factory record for this shotgun was lost sometime ago.
The case colors are actually better than this photo. At my request, Buck changed the forearm to a semi-beavertail. Chambers were lengthened to 2-3/4" as the barrels are thick (not sure of the #?). The stock is a piece of California English I had been saving/drying for 15 years.
It has become one of my favorite hunters, and has been used extensively on upland birds in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, and South Dakota, and at Flatwater. Chokes are now SKEET and IC. I also use it for informal skeet and sporting clays.
My thanks to Mike Campbell for the posting assistance.
