Some maker's are still going, some have folded, some have become retailers, and some have been revived and are trying to make a comeback. Retailers are still there, some aren't. There are still in-workers and out-workers of phenomenal skill and ordinary skill.

It is all still there except much shrunk as shooting isn't the apex of entertainment as it was some 100-150 years ago. Shooting sports must compete with radio, TV, pro sports, etc.

The good news is that we were left a treasure trove of fantastic guns in the used market at more or less affordable prices.
