Looks to be in great shape - prices are going up. Must have been redone at some point. ================================================================ 34585 https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/reilly-em/side-by-side/12-gauge/hammer-gun-181001092157455A stunning, top quality English hammer gun with steel barrels and 2.75” chambers. Very difficult to find one as good as this! 30” barrels, 1/4, 3/4 choke, 6lbs 10oz, 2 3/4 chambers. High grade gun, heavily used and re-finished. I do not think prices are going up....that one is priced too high for current condition.

No proof marks shown. At 6lb 10oz one truly has to wonder if those 2 3/4" chambers are original to the gun, or if it has been rechambered. If so it should have re-proof marks.

Since it is for sale in the UK from a dealer, it will have suitable proof for the current chamber length. It would be illegal here (and it is a serious offence) to sell an out of proof gun.

John; Yes, I realized that, so this was not meant as a distraction to the gun, just a matter of curiosity.

I asked the seller a question about the name on the rib... But with steel barrels and 2 3/4" chambers, even though they are 30", I'm wondering if it were rebarreled at some point? We'll find out when he responds. Incidentally, I find 34585 remarkably similar to 34582 pictured below. 34582 had been re-sleeved by Westley Richards and had 2 3/4" chambers and 28" steel barrels and was several ounces lighter: http://www.heritageguns.net/guns.php?id=506 ![](http://www.jpgbox.com/jpg/55158_1024x574.jpg)

I'll share a little secret with you j0e.....most of the really good guns that I and other dealers sell rarely see the internet. I have sold three really nice Nitro proofed British double rifles in the last couple of months, not one was advertised. Each one sold for several times the asking price of the Reilly above. Think that one has been re-stocked? The stock shape around the lock plates just does not look right. I think the pitting on the action is no extra charge.
We are lucky to have an esteemed expert such as yourself grace us with your presence on this board. Take care buddy. Steve

You're the liberal gun expert that gave your assessment of the gun...
Not eYe bo zo....I just gave it a quick glance.
I do have a question for you...how much does a liberal gunsmith pay to post a tag to his website in his signature line ?
