I forgot to note that it is the mechanization that differentiates the hand quality(eye of quality control, fit, etc.) of the Pre-WWI or Pre-WWII from the post period where so many talented mechanics were lost and mechanization replaced them.

For example WWI saw the demise of Ernst Lindner in fierce fighting w/ the Brits & the associated/subsequent fall into obscurity of the famed Daly Gun.
