Beautiful shotgun Bill!!!
Have we determined that it was J. P. Sauer & Sohn who built this piece for Eduard Kettner?

Thank you gentlemen for your comments. I believe the consensus was that J.P. Sauer built the gun for Ed. Kettner. We do not know for sure the true circumstances. What I like about this gun, (besides the steel barrels), is that the short hammers are below the line of sight when cocked and it felt like shooting a hammerless sxs. I have also included the 3 forum links of the previous postings related to this gun at the beginning of this thread. BillK

Beautiful restoration and bless you for making the decision to have the work done! For those of us who place great value ( emotionally ) on the skills and quality ethic of all those men that worked each piece by hand prior to the advent of our modern technology, it is a joy to see these artistic " tools" restored to their original grandeur. Good for you ! I hope it brings you ( and your descendents) much satisfaction and happy days in the field. Best regards, JBP
