The fellow on this thread below is hoping to get a little more identification on this German OU. I told him I'd post the link over here and see if anyone can tell him some more about his gun. Thanks!

Seems to favour a Griefelt? Need some images of the sides of the frame & the floorplate. Does it wear a unique buttplate? It experienced proof in May 1932.

Some odd things there. Only the Kersten extension on one side, which I guess means it's not a real Kersten. Maybe a Kersten variation. Can't recall having seen an OU before with the extension on only one side. Also a one-piece forend rather than 3-piece.

You might get a definitive answer by asking the question on the German Guns Forum: http://www.germanguns.com/

They have been of help to me in the past.

Lower grade Merkels often have one extension, Larry. I think they're kind of neat looking.

The owner of the shotgun added a couple more pictures. Thanks for helping out!

Guess I've never seen one of those. Have owned a couple 200's, and they both had 2. And I did own a 16ga Sauer OU that was Merkel-like in appearance, but had a one piece forend.
