Two things,
Ammunition manufacturers are constrained by the agreed upon max load standards. They allow a manufacturer to change components as long as they stay below the agreed to max pressure line.
As a practical matter, no manufacturer wants to sell a product that won't actuate a modern autoloader. That's where the money is as they say.

Secondly, the less the little clearances within a shotgun.s bolting system go slamming back and forth into one another, the longer they last. And that's a function of ammunition.

I have shotguns residing betwixt and between, they won't behave with heavy loads, yet perform well with light loads. Since I don't wish to spend a lifetime ferreting out tiny clearance issues, I use the ammunition that works, and endeavor to improve my accuracy in shooting. YMMV of course.

Out there doing it best I can.
