I have a GR2 Ithaca Flues inbound with a highly figured stock and in great overall condition. The stock was cut for the pad so I can't go back with the original BP. The current pad is old, hard and out of shape. What pad would you replace it with? Silvers, Hawkins, leather etc.?

Just a little daydreaming in anticipation:)

Thanks,
Ithaca1

What era is the gun. Pre WW-I I'd go with a Silvers. After The Great War probably a Jostam Anti-Flinch would be right if you can find one.

Researcher,

1923.
Galazan sells the Jostam but I don't think it is the one you speak of. I'll start the search.

Bob,
Are you talking about the Noshoc reproduction with the 1922 patent?

Ithaca "Sunburst" or "Bridge Trestle" pad was introduced c. 1931/1932 with a black hard rubber base, courtesy of David Noreen.

It appears from looking at a lot of old catalogues that the "PATENTED JUNE 6,1922" recoil pad was a Winchester proprietary pad until sometime in the 1930s when it began appearing under the NOSHOC brand name.
