In my part of GA the predominant shotgun action type is the automatic. One a dove shoot here, with twenty guns present, you would see something like ........ seventeen automatics, a couple over/unders, and a pump. If I am there that would likely include a s x s. Duck hunting here, about the same. Quail is different. Pumps are never seen, automatics are in the minority, with over/unders leading the way. More s x s guns will be seen in the quail field than any other type hunting here. I always use a s x s for quail.
