Hi eightbore, first you have to register at "egun", then you can ask a question (" Frage an JLangguth " in german) to the seller( it`s a guntrader in the german town of Kaiserslautern near US Air Base Rammstein, what perhaps will explain the L.C.Smith system...)otherwise send him a Mail, here are the dates: Waffen Langguth Schneiderstr.7-9 67655 Kaiserslautern Owner: Jochen Langguth, Mail: waffenlangguth@t-online.de
Good Luck!

Hi Run with the Fox (der mit dem Fuchs läuft), nice german! But I don´t know if you know, that you have wrote something very ambiguous!? In german we say "Schrot" for "Shot", and we say "Schrott" for "Scrap Metal"........ So, the question is: what do you really mean....
By the way, I do not have any interest in this auction! I only want it let to know to some conneiseurs, because there are pretty few here in Germany.....

Gunwolf Gunwolf, Welcome aboard, and thank you for posting the gun. The skill you show with English is better than Foxe's skills with English, German or Spanish. We've been trying to find out what he really means for years... Best, Ted

We've been trying to find out what he really means for years... Best, Ted Hallo dere, Tedster again-- more accurate to have written "Fox's" skills in being tri-lingual. At least I make the effort, nothing says Viel gluck, meine nuen Fruend, or Hola, amigo mio- muy buena suerte-- than to attempt to express it in that man's native tongue- There is an old saying in diplomatic circles- goes something like this-"If you speak to a citizen of a foreign nation through an interpreter, you are speaking to his mind-- but if you take the time to try to learn his native tongue and then converse with him, you are speaking to his heart as well-- Of course both my attempts at Spanish and German come with the Midwest accent of a native born English speaking American-The written and reading aspects of any language do not carry that same stigmata of syntax and pronunciation, IMO anyway. Wait until I have completed my current Rosetta Stone language course in Italian, then you can make fun of me for trying to converse in that Romance language here- where Piotti, Perrazi, Ferrari, Lamborghini and other great designs sometimes dwell- Ciao!!

Best, Gunwolf Danke, meine Fruend. Back to English, and my compliments as to your fluency in that language, it is my understanding that mastering English has been required for graduation in the German School system for many years- Where I live in MI- the town is of Danish heritage- but only Spanish and French are taught in the area schools, no German, Italian or Danish-- And I appreciate your solid correction between Schrote and Schrotte, helps me learn and progress-- funny perhaps, how close some words are in almost all the World's various languages- a slight change in spelling- etc-- Back to Deutsch for a moment-- schwul und schweul, Ja. Ich bist auf dem richtigen Spur, und nicht Schwul- Das wetter, machts schweul heute??-- Other examples where a different spelling, or the omission of the umlat can make a difference: At a formal party, one could ask for Vorspeise, but to ask a Lady for Vorspiel-- Verbotten, Ja? And I don't know if you are familiar with older American movies- my favorite now deceased actor of the 1960-1970 era was Steve McQueen- He played the part of USAAF Captain Virgil Hiltz in "The Great Escape"-- good thing he said "Nicht Scheissen" when he went to retrieve his baseball in the early part of that great movie- and not "Nicht Scheise"-- Ja??? I have 3 older LC Smiths-pre-1913 and a friend who has two made later in the 1930's- both are for either clay pigeons or live bird shooting-- the Single Trap has a Schnabel (beak) style forearm, and like 99% of the great Germanic gun designs, has a practical as well as aesthetic place-- a "form following function"-- I have heard of a few LC Smith shotguns extant in Europe--but I should think they are scarce--and so many other great gunmakers still in business, whereas the real Hunter Arms designed and built LC Smith guns went under about 1945-- Thanks for posting this German link on this BBS, there are many LC Smith fans that frequent this website-- Und-- Prosit!!
