I don't know about their .25-20 brass but I bought some .25-25 basic back when they were Jamison and they need to be annealed for the top 2/3 or more. I mean a hot with a torch until red kind. Normally I anneal brass with a candle or alcohol lamp. It's very brittle and will crack the first time you run it into the die if you don't.

My friend John who has a rifle like yours loaded some ammo with brand-new never fired Peters brass and they were separating on the first shot. I was shooting with him at time, so shot one in my G&H, the case separated and I got a face full of hot gas and particles.
