Bill,
Where do you get the 5% Argentine shot, and what is the name of it, if I am not being too bold in asking.

Mike, Thanks much for relating your methods. As usual, your practicable approach is, well, practical.
Good to know that Lawrence/West Coast is good stuff. It's available around my parts too.
Thanks again Chuck

Argentine shot is imported into this country in my area by Bob Seebeck. leadman9@verizon.net, 214-668-1215. His price is always good but you must buy ton lot and it is in the Houston area, so freight can eat you up. I have sold 30 tons for Bob in the LA area and never had a quality complaint.

Thanks, Bill.
I looked at the Lawrence website and found that it is owned by Metalico, I believe was the name, and that they deal in other metals as well. Showed the mailing address as being in B'ham, Alabama. I got the phone number and tried it today, hoping that I could arrange a pickup when passing through B'ham next week on my way to Arkansas for some duck hunting. Figured I might could shave off the freight, but nobody answered at the number I called. Said to ask for Robyn, but Robyn wasn't in, alas. I'll try Monday morning again.
Anybody here ever bought shot directly from them in Birmingham, AL?

Around 10 years ago one of the members of the BBS, (Dr?) Alan Griffith, was doing in-depth lab analysis of the major and minor brands bagged & Factory shells for hardness, roundness, shot actually true to nominal size advertized, deviations/percentages from size/shape/etc.
He provided a great deal of information to members of this board at that time. I don't know if he is still active anywhere online.
He turned that testing into a business that is listed as an FFL; GSS Patterning Griffith, Alan 1546 N 1250 E Mapleton, UT 84664 Phone: 801-491-9198
No website that I can find. I might be able to dig up an old email
I have a little bit of raw data from back then. Size 8, brand/type, %antimony, Avg size;
#8 West Coast 6% AV size = 0.090615385 #8 Lawrence Mag 5.5% AV size = 0.092615385 #8 Win Game Ld 4% AV size = 0.092 #8 Win AA Lt Tgt 5.5% AV size = 0.093153846 #8 Eagle Shot 4% AV size = 0.088769231 #8 Lawrence Chill 3% AV size = 0.094846154 *sized like 7-1/2
