No CC; wood in good shape; checkering still strong; bores shiney but not smooth; damascus; very light dent in left barrel about four inches from muzzle. There is a wee bit of wiggle with gun broke open, but tight when closed with forearm off. Lever just a hair left of center.

What I am questioning is, you have to look close to see damascus pattern under thinning blue. WERE DAMASCUS BARRELS EVER BLUED ON DAMASCUS? It was made in 1905 Asking $800

When Damascus was new and "very much in vogue" up into the 1920's, I don't think any of the factories blued/browned over the beautiful patterns as it was a very desireable blue/brown etched finish, as it has become again........but as life of these vintage guns progressed, many of them were blued over without etching to hide the damascus as it lost it's popularity in the 20's, 30's and 40's......and was considered weak and old fashioned......

Yup, some people blued over Damascus, but not at the factory that made the guns. No problem that a bit of hunting won't cure.

WW I put the quietus on damascus barrels. Couldn't get them from Europe because of the war.

Thanks. What's your opinion of the $800 price? It was evidently blued many years ago and the barrels ring.

What gauge is this Parker SXS shotgun ???

How long are the barrels ????

Are the barrels still the original length ??? Not cutoff !!!

Are the ribs still tight to the barrels ???

Is the correct butt plate still on the butt stock ???

What is the frame size of this Parker ??? The frame size is very very important to guys like me who like to shoot these old guns.

Is the serial number the same on the frame the barrels and the fore end ???

The dent in the left barrel that you mentioned is nothing. We can fix that in five minutes if it is a 12 gauge or a 10 gauge.

With this information we can help you price this Parker.

Good Shooting To You, Jent

Take the barrels off and look at the rear of the lug for the frame size.
