I am looking for a recommendation for someone to bend a stock for me. Professional and reasonably quick turn-around. (Bird season is about 38 days and 12 hours away.) I used a well known individual on another occasion whose work was less than satisfactory.

clay: bending a stock just aint a good idea, particularly if the wood is old. what is it that you are trying to accomplish? have not seen your usual fine offerings on gunbroker recently. anything new coming up for sale? ed

Mike Orlean did a good job for me on a restocked Parker repo a few years back with a fast turn around as I recall.

Gentlemen,
Many thanks for the suggestions. I've heard mixed things on this board about Mike O., enough to make me shy away. I've dealt with SKB on non-stock-related issues, and he is a great guy, of course. I don't know of Dennis Smith - where does he work? Randy, I've responded to your message - thanks for the tip. Ed - my cupboard is almost bare!

Mike Orlen has been bent 5 stocks for me and I have been very happy with his work. One of those being a re-bend after Griffin & Howe muffed up the job. I will use Mr. Orlen for next bend job.

I also used Mr. Orlen and he did a fantastic job and a real quick turn around time. In fact he was shipping the gun back before I mailed the check.
He has also done sone choke work for me and is fantastic.
