Indeed, after Fred Gilbert won the First DuPont Grand Smokeless Championship Handicap Live-bird Tournament in 1895 until the Remington and Winchester pumps and SBTs took over, Smith guns were tops at the traps. Fred went to a Parker after the 1899 GAH

Most of the June 1901 Anglo-American Clay Bird Match team used Parkers. Smiths went 1-2-3 at the last GAH at Live Birds in 1902 in KC but by about 1905, more of the big dogs were using Parkers
