To me, the barrels are the gun and the fact that they are not original and made in Birmingham, would not be a true H&H if that is what I wanted. I would rather have original barrels that were Teauge lined.
Before I bought my Fox, I had the opportunity to buy a 1930 H&H Royal that was in very nice condition. The only issue was that it had an original cross-over stock and would need to be re-stocked which was not a problem as I would have had that done anyway to fit me. It had 30" bbls and was very nice. I had it checked out by a smith over there to confirm the condition. I could have got it for about 18-20K, plus the restock would cost another 5-6k. I should have done it as that would have been a steal, but I am very happy with my Fox. Good luck on your hunt.
