I recently got a 20 gauge Hunter Special Fulton. It is absolutly mint except for a few scratches on the stock. It is a nice little gun, though certainly not a Fox or Parker.
Does anyone know the years of production?

Introduced 1937. Discontinued about 1945.

Drew is correct in the years, not many made because they were not continued at the end of World War 11.

What should a really nice 20 be worth? This gun is 26" barrels and if it were not for the stock scratches, it could pass for brand new.

Not trying to be critical, and correct me if I'm wrong. You're calling it a Hunter Special Fulton. That's 2 different guns. I believe it has to be a Fulton, or a Hunter Special(with the rotary bolt) or a Fulton Special(engraved Fulton)..The nice ones are getting scarce and I think any one of the three is worth $600 in nice condition and probably $700 as you describe.. M D Christian: What would be the value for a Fulton in about the same condition in 410 guage?

Ralph I think they should bring $1000 to $1200. You see a lot of these, (Fultons, Lefevers and Iver Johnson Hercules) for $1500 to $2000 , but I think they rarely sell for over $1200.. MDC

MD Christian is correct in what they are called. It is either a Fulton, introduced in 1915, Fulton Special, introduced in 1916 or a Hunter Special, introduced in 1935. The Hunter Special was the only one with the famous "Rotary Bolt" locking system.
abner, the only guages made in the three (3) grades were 12, 16, and 20. So if you wanted a .410 you have have to look for a L.C. Smith shotgun, came out in 1926, or go to another manufacture of shotguns.
