Annie Oakley had only a slight wisp of facial hair and shot very straight guns. I think her well publicized Lancaster dimensions were fitted for her in the 1890s.

Annie's Ithaca 4E SBT was ordered with 1 1/2 inch drop at the face and 2 1/4 drop at the heel. LOP was 14 1/4 inches. Ordered 11/19/15 and shipped to her on 1/3/16. It had a straight grip and beaver tail FE. Silvers recoil pad. Diameter at the grip 4 3/4 inches to accommodate her hand. Weight was 7 3/4 pounds. Pitch ( called "stand out" on the order) 3 inches. Barrel was 32 inches full choke. Here's Annie with her Ithaca.

Thanks, Walt. Has Annie's little Ithaca been located? It is interesting that by 1915, she started shooting guns with more drop than her earlier guns. It doesn't look like she gained much weight, causing her to need more room at the comb. Murphy

Bill, Ithaca built her a double gun but no record of its serial number. In my nieve youth I was offered her gun but didn't have enough sence to grab it. I don't know where it is now.

Kim Rhode is the only shooter pictured who seems to have a separation from the nose to the thumb of more than a fraction of an inch. She is not crawling the stock, seems to be far back on the comb compared to most International Skeet shooters. With her high arm position and apparently too long stock, I find her hard to watch. However, it seems to work for her in both games.
