I'm going to be traveling from Gunter Pfrommer's near Roanoake, VA, up I-81 thru PA and over to Harrisburg then Allentown and into Bridgewater, NJ. I know the haunts around Bridgewater, but the other areas are all new to me.

Any suggestions for gunshops would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chuck

G&H is a bit north of there in the "slums" of Benardsville and Steven Cobb is in Bedminster not far from G&H.

Just kidding about the "slum" part of course,not to bad a place to live at all !

Shuman's in Newville, PA, just off I-81 was a great shop back in the day. Don't know what it is like under the currant ownership, as I moved out west in 2002. You could always stop at Executive Buying Service in Lancaster, PA.!!! There has never been a screw turned!!!

Tho only gun shop I'm aware of in the Peoples Republik of New Jersey is Sarcos. Much of their merchandise can't even be sold to the States residents! Last I heard they were thinking of moving elsewhere.

Lous gunshop in Raritan,he has some quite nice stuff.
Right nextdoor to Bridgewater.Maybe youve been there by now.
I seem to recall you asking the same question last year?
Effingers in Bound Brook,close by,not much- but wide in variety.
Rutgers gun and boat center,Highland Park,mostly old stuff,I seen some old paper shell crimpers in there,a sporterized halfstock Garand,and Allin system trapdoors.Just never know.
Sarco Stirling-got a poop load of lowgrade german SxS,and now auto shottys from Sweden.
Turnpike in Nj,if you make exit 6 to I95 to rt130 N, you find
"Wyoming Outfitters" ,used to be "Harrys",but now only guns and archery.Please check up on the directions.

If you are so motivated--take 81 to 84East. Go to Taconic exit, to north to Millbrook. Exit, turn right, Safari Outfitters is on the left. Niles is a good guy

* Shydas' Gun Shop and Clothing Barn in Lebanon, PA ... http://www.shydasgunshop.com/
Six miles off the PA Turnpike at Exit 266. Have a nice rack of used shotguns and rifles. Plenty of centerfire and shotgun primers, limit 1000. IMHO, nice prices, ie shot @ $25/25lbs.
Look at their products listing on their website. Plus they are a retailer of Goex powder
* Cabelas and Enck's in Hamburg, PA on Rt 322
* Trop's Gun Shop in Elizabethtown, PA http://www.pennsylvaniasonline.com/redirect/?id=5
* Keifer's in Walnutport, PA outside of Easton ... http://allentown.citysearch.com/profile/8837393/walnutport_pa/keifer_s_gun_shop.html#profileTab-maps
* Dunkelberger's in Stroudsburg, PA http://www.dunkelbergers.com/
* Sarco's in Sterling, NJ - near Bridgewater ... http://www.sarcoinc.com/
OK, spent enough of your money

Hi Chuck:

In my opinion, I would skip Schumanns in Newville! I would stop at a gun shop in Port Royal,Va.that may have some guns that may interest you.

Let me know when you would be near Carlisle, Pa. and perhaps we could do lunch.

Clark Bros and Greentop are both worth a stop . They have web sites. I picked up a nice Ithaca Single barel trap gun last month at Clark brothers and a Pretty good German Foresters type combo last summer. I went hunting last week near Gunters .http://www.clarkbrosguns.com/home.html
