John still has his barrel but has not built his rifle yet. After watching me go from an offhand rifle back to a bench rest breech-seating rifle he may still be trying to figure out what he wants to do. I should also say that if I were to to this project over I would not use a Ballard. I think there is no better rifle for making a breech-seating rifle out of but this small case with a big bullet MAY run the pressure up around the limits of a Ballard. If I was back at square one I would use a High-Wall or Borchardt.

About the same time we both got interested in .22's and he built this using an original action.

I’m using my Pope .33-220 mould from my Hartford Pope set and would like to get another mould for this rifle. I tried one of the moulds by, from everyone’s account, a good mould maker, and it was a disaster. I have, pictured below, a Pope .32 mould that has a perfect like-new cavity that I would trade for a Pope .33 in like condition.
