Chuck, as a unlicensed individule he will have to use either UPS or Fedex both require overnight shipping for handguns (the employees have less time to steal them !)A lot if not most of the shipping stores will not take a gun (they can make up their own rules and do)so you have to find a company branch and have the info from their rules handy in case you run into flak. http://www.thegunzone.com/ship-guns.htmlOf course kalif may well have some law against it but yes a unlicensed indivdule can ship a handgun to a FFL.

If it was just reading the ATF FAQs for the complete answer there would be no problem. But what makes the situation more complex is understanding the individual state laws that may restrict the local resident further....
That's why (I think) running the question by a group such as ours is a good first step...more times than not someone will raise a red flag, point the person to a correct "official" website, or suggest a contact...

you are right on all counts.
As far as posting pics, its extremely easy especially if you use Photobucket which is what I use.
If I can do it, any of the members, most all of which are of much superior intellect than a mudroller like me can do it.
