I have a friend who is looking to sell 19 boxes of Bismuth 10 ga 3 1/2" shells loaded with a mixture 1 7/8 oz of #4's, 2's and BB's, he wants $600 for the whole lot. All I want is the shot, but I'm trying to make up my mind whether 22 pounds of Bismuth is really worth $600. It would last me several years split into 1 1/8" 12 ga loads. What are your thoughts, is there likely to be a better deal on Bismuth in the near future?

Look on Ballistic Products webbsite at their prices for what bismuth-loaded shotshells they have left. Lots of those are 10 gauge 3,5 inch loads.

I do buy 12 gauge mag bismuth ammo now and them for shot sizes I use -- #4s (really #3s), #2s (really more like #1s) and #BBs are way too big for my 1,0 oz loads. 10 3,5 inch gauge is priced above my upper boundary. I presume those 19 boxes are 10 per box.

Alex, if you only want the shot, buy Ecotungsten's "Niceshot". It's cheaper than your friend's bismuth and heavier, ok for old doubles, reloads the same as lead (no buffer needed), and you wouldn't need to dissassemble a zillion shells to get at it, or seperate the 3 different sizes (if you don't want 4s, 2s and BBs mixed together)!
