I need to make an LOP of 13 1/4" with buttplate into 14 1/4" LOP. What are some viable options?

Stretch, grow or pull are out. That leaves a thick pad, spacers, wood extension or combination of all three. Start with a 1" thick solid pad and see how it looks to your eye. 1" is about the max. that you can get out of a pad without it looking excessively long. I have seen several at 1 1/2" and they look like crap to me. Solid horn is another option but that seems very European to me and often look out of place on a American klunker.

KY Jon I have a 15.5" length of pull and I have several crappy looking 1.5" extensions on my guns. Fortunately, it's easily reversable to the 95% of the world that don't need to go to the lengths I do to get good fit. To accomidate the rest of the world I always keep the original butt plate for when I sell the gun. BTW my favorite gun originally had a 13.5" LOP, if you think adding 1.5"s looks crappy you should see how awful 2"s looks. However there is hope, I like the gun enough I may get it restocked one day. Lefty Were it my gun I'd probably fit it with a 1" black Decelerator pad, that's what I've done with several of my guns, just thank your luck that you don't have to add spacers too. Steve

A viable option might be to just buy a replacement stock. If it's a production gun from Browning or Beretta or Remington or ???, wood is always available if you look around. If it's a Brit classic or an American SxS clunker, you should probably start with the Silvers repro, available in 1" and 1.5". Even if it's an older gun, there is usually wood around.
What is it?

It's a Lefever Nitro Special 20ga. I'm kinda buying it for my son but until he's old enough to shoot it or decides to shoot something else I'd like the option of being able to use it myself. The gun is otherwise +90pct condition.

Sounds like a temporary lengthening is in order. Jeff's Outfitters has a moderately priced and very nice Silvers repro in the 1.5" size, but they also sell the "Technically Superior Recoil Pad" (that's how it's labelled on the bag) in black, and that might look better on a Nitro Special, and because it's black you could also add a spacer without making it too noticeable. Should make the gun very shootable and presentable while you look for replacement wood or a parts gun. If you put a pad on the current stock, don't let the fitter trim the stock to "square it up." He might need to dress it a bit to get a perfect fit, but no cutting should be necessary (or allowed).

The new Ithaca sells a replica of the old "Sunburst" pad that I believe they came out with in the late 1930's. I've put one on a late 1930's Nitro Special I have. Steve

Kick Ezz makes a 1.25 thick ugly looking pad that feels wonderfull. Brownells has them for roughly $25. bill

If it is temporary why not something like this? JC(AL)

JayCee's solution has the further advantage that you can put temporary spacers inside the slip-on to give even more pull, and they don't show on the outside. When you want to return the gun to original condition, you just pull the whole dingus off.
One caveat--you need to pull the whole dingus off every once in a while anyway and make sure it's dry under there, especially after hunting. Trapped water will play hell with your stock finish.
I like these pullovers because of the "convertability," and the fact that they are, as one of my crude hunting companions calls them, "butt condoms" in the scratch-and-dent world. As for esthetics (sp?), I leave that to the Shotgun Fashion Police, who will no doubt be by with their ticket book....
