Even the polished action looks like functional art.

I imagine this started out as a rifle? ... or did you receive the action the way it is?

Thanks for the link. That rifle is pictures in Winfer's latest book, the Webley and Scott volume. The pictures will help to recreate the rifle.


I don't know what the action will be when it grows up. There is not a lot of information out there on the action, and very few pictures of intact originals. If I end up building it for myself it will be an attempt at restoring it to original configuration with a contemporary chambering.

So many vices, so little time...
