OK, so my '67 200e has all the really Suhl stuff: nitro mark, choke bore mark, inspection mark, adze handle stuck thru an insole in a shield, stylized iggle, but what, pray tell, is the service pressure?! I'm going crazy here! Where're Larry Brown and Doc Drew, the guys who can chew thru the monkish disputation and spit out the bottom line?

As per the 1974 rules the longarm was designed for standard cartridges that as an average would yield 9428 psi or 650 bar.

Thought it might be higher like the Brit 2.75" chamber 3 1/4 ton proof. Guess not. Thanks Raimey.

Hello Kaninchen,
Stick to CIP shells and you can't miss.

Have to look that one up, JC; hope it don't mean chinchilla? Still thinking about some fiber wad loads thru this "13 gauge" before I start monkeying with the turkey choke. I really like this gun, shoot it surprisingly well (40 and 48 pts. constriction doth not a skeetgun make) but have to watch my forehand position to make sure I don't get the slightest bit of cant because it has LOTS of castoff and easy to get to starboard of the rib.

The figure of 65 MPa is nothing more then maximum allowable gas pressure of std. 12br/70mm euro load under CIP rules. For 12br find quality domestic game load of 1oz with starting velocity of 1200fps or less and you and your flinte will be just fine.

Ooooh, mega Pascals; I like that! Have no idea what that is; one of the thousand names of the pressure god? I was more comfortable with kilograms per square centimeter, tons per square inch and other pig iron on a postage stamp sort of phenom. Ich spreche CIP (on my good days). I will look for the sub 95hunnert stuff or cook it myself.

If you quarry requires #4s, Polywad's 60X is a unique choice. I think the pressure is a bit more than 8k psi(8k psi<pressure<9k psi). I shoot quite a few of those and you can't stand too many in short sleeves. I've let a friend, with an A5 configured with the max number of friction rings, bum a few when he was low and the A5 wouldn't cycle.

Look, when I bought my 5,5lb 16ga I also picked up some 65mm Gamebore Traditional Game loads. I found Fiocchi 'Game & Target' 1oz 70mm loads with Vo of <1200fps at about half the price of English CIP approved stuff. They are both loaded with same blue case and I don't need fibre wad. Hey, screw Gamebore stuff I hope there is no hard feelings. Those Fiocchis can be had at Gander Mtn which is not known for low prices for reasonable $8.99/box which is not bad for 16 ga shell.
