I just got back from the range and had a gun "double"It sounds like your gun is shot through a very long tube,Not the first time I have had/seen this before. My gun is a Beretta SO4 and I wondering why this would occur?I have a problem with all my Berettas 682,687eell,and now this SO4,when I swing the top lever over to the right,my thumb will sometimes shift the barrel slector over.Since I shoot the bottom barrel first,it would be firing the top barrel,it got so bad I now allways put two shells in.
Awhile back I had a 682 with a screw through the slector, now I know why.
Has anyone else experinced a selector switch that moved at a wrong time?Could this be a cause of a doubling?Or look else where, worn sears.
Hampton

My 682 Gold E selector moves around. I don't know if it's me bumping it during recoil or if it moves on its own.

Maybe the competition selector button can be installed to replace the screwless variety. Also, the screwless variety may take to a drill and tap and a 4-40 or 5-40 set screw. However, I, personally, will not dismantle my SO gun to do the deed.

Try using a piece of tape.
