What is the difference between the S3 and the SO3? Is there a difference in value/price? Anyone know the dates they were manufactured?

A friend who shot Springer Field Trials with me had a Beretta which was bought in Britain (which I thought was an S3) was an O/U with a double Kersten Lock
Doesn't a Kersten locking mechanism include two extension ribs with holes in them to receive the locking bolts? No Beretta over under I have seen includes such a system.
