I need any info, members might have on a seller from California on GunsInternational .... user name "GATOMANNN" !!!
This seller listed and sold me an LC Smith 5E 20 gauge which was grossly misrepresented in the add. I contacted him the day I received the gun and asked for permission to return the gun for a full and complete refund and was finally told the gentleman was out of the country hunting and would be in touch when he returned ..... I have every reason to believe the hunting trip was a lie and this seller is not to be trusted ..... There are several high-end (read expensive) guns listed for sale there right now ....so "buyer beware" !!! This gentleman refuses to honor the terms of his agreement as a seller on GunsInternational and has many "issues" with the story being told !!!
The serial number is 5232 ...... any info on the gun or seller will be held in the highest confidence and greatly appreciated as legal action is being prepared !!! Any member needing his name should PM me directly and I will have no problem in sharing that if you have any info that can be used to prevent this persons continued misuse of the gun communities trust !?!?

I don't understand what happened. Why didn't you just send the gun back within 3 days by registered mail?

I looked at his GI listings and the guns he has are, by and large, not real high-end and they are in a price range that will make it not worth your while to initiate a suit.

A friend got screwed on an interstate 100K deal and his lawyer filed a suit in Federal Court and the defendant couldn't afford to defend (he would have lost anyway) but a 20K gun isn't worth it and if fraud was really involved the guys who do it know about the limits they can get away with.

He had your gun and your money when you sent payment. That is the way it is done.

Should have never asked permission...I'd have just boxed it back up sent it on it's way and then told him I was returning it.

Once you go past the 3 day inspection period you might have to own it.

I just did a search for him on Guns International looks like he has some nice guns listed. http://www.gunsinternational.com/adv_search_results.cfm

Sure you're not just having some kind of buyers remorse ?

JB.. Call Dave or Deb at Guns International and report your transaction. If the seller is crooked, they can help. Grant.

Many thanks for all the info sent via PM ....

1). If a seller keeps the money and never ships the gun .. that is gun theft .. and nobody in their right mind would try that ... just call the feds .. problem solved !!! So the gun and money at the same time argument "at the beginning of the transaction" doesn't hold up !!! You return the gun ... seller claims it is abandoned property and your screwed ????

2). I did email (2 times) and call (5 times) within the agreed 3 day "inspection period" ... contact was initiated within 3 hours of me opening the gun (on Friday) !!! I got a response on Monday from a grandson who said his granddad had left the country for a hunting trip to Africa !?!?

3). Gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and was told no problem, he would call me and work it out when he got back !!! Waited over a month for him to "work it out" !!!

5). No buyers remorse here ... still love the gun ... the condition just was not as described and thus the value was affected !?!?

4). David and Deb at GunsInternational have been great and I can highly recommend them as a VERY professionally run company !!!

5). I will know tomorrow, but I think a resolution has been reached .... will advise if the gentleman is true to his word this time !?!?
Again many thanks to the Double Gun Community !!
