Nice Rifle, but the engraving is f***** up.

Is Larry Flint selling off his gun collection?
Posted By: Bill G. Re: A feast for the eyes.... - 01/30/10 03:08 AM
It probably cost a lot of money to ruin a really nice rifle with such a ridiculous engraving.

Sick, sick, sick! Something to show the kids!

The forend is cracked with so much going on the receiver!
It would take a real man to fix it!

I read that he is in need of major money to fund a law suit against his sons about using the Flint name in a porn publication, not Hustler.

Loverly family.

Good luck to him and his ilk. Hope the rifle goes to the Bunny House.

Best,
John

All kidding aside, that really is some lousy engraving.

Nothing there a file couldn't fix. Pretty tasteless stuff.

Classic proof that money does not give rise to taste. The gun deserves better than that poorly done engraving. Scummy and crummy all in the same gun.

Damn Dustin, you being into French shotguns and all, I thought, finally, some good pics of a Georges Granger!!! Oh well.

Some of Europe's best make a playboy centerfold look like kinder garden literature. ROUGH but very well done. If you object to the subject, grow up, if you don't like the quality, you are right.

The lame attempt at censoring the naughty bits with a piece of white tape was pretty funny.

A little action on the action!

Is that a backaction lock?

Funny Mike. Guess Flynt wasn't exactly a missionary. In the late seventies, Flynt's shocking pink Isreali "Westwind" would come into New Castle Cty. airport on occasion to be serviced at Atlantic Aviation. We'd pull the "blueroom" (I don't remember this latrine ever being really blue as they apparently stayed out of heavy weather.)to get at the avionics which were behind every dado and mirror. I never liked working in Westwinds as they were very tight inside which tended to the cultivation of backache, pulled neck muscles. I don't know if it was much the same for the passengers. Depends on your position probably.

Also there were way too many bolts to be safety-wired and the nite Nazi that ran Modification was a stickler for safety except when the aircraft had to get out in a hurry. Time is money!

Does that gun require any sort of special lubricant?
Posted By: RMC Re: A feast for the eyes.... - 01/31/10 06:55 AM
Yes it does Greg, Industrial grade KY, unflavored of course. generic brand acceptable.

Taste and money seldom go together. To each his own but I have always found these types of engravings on guns to be distasteful, and I'm no prude. There is a place for that kind of stuff and it's called a bedroom, not on the side of a nice gun.

Next time he'll be a bit more specific when he tells the engraver he wants engraved screws.
